Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Services

The Oil Pollution Prevention regulation (40 CFR part 112) applies to owners and operators of non-transportation-related onshore and offshore facilities that could reasonably be expected to discharge oil into navigable waters of the United States or adjoining shorelines in quantities that may be harmful.  The regulation requires these facilities to prepare and implement Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans as part of compliance management. The SPCC Plan defines a comprehensive oil spill prevention and control program that minimizes the potential for discharges to navigable waters.

Stratus has developed SPCC Plans for a wide variety of industries ranging from landfills and waste transfer stations to large asphalt production facilities. Our knowledgeable staff of Professional Engineers can provide your facility with a practical SPCC Plan that meets the requirements of the SPCC Rule 40 CFR 112 or help you prepare and self-certify your own Plan. Our SPCC Plans and are often used by facility owners and operators as a reference for oil storage information, facility inspections, and as a guide to communicate practices on preventing and responding to oil discharges.
