Regulatory Compliance

A key objective of our project managers and principals is keeping clients in compliance with environmental laws and regulations. We stay abreast of the constantly changing regulatory environment and vigorously pursue policy changes that benefit our clients. We have extensive knowledge and expertise in,

  • Proven excellence in complying with WDR, NPDES, AQMD and sewer discharge permits
  • Expertise in compliance with regulatory processes to ensure streamlined project schedules, effective negotiations, and team acceptance of project resolutions;
  • Efficient implementation of agency guidance leading to appropriate remedial solutions and Records of Decision (ROD) to close out Areas of Concern;

We understand the technical requirements of federal and state environmental regulations, such as the Title 22 requirements for the State of California, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), and Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA). We are familiar with state laws as well as local requirements such as those of the Bay Area Air Quality, San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, Feather River Air Quality Management District, Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District, Shasta Air Quality Management District, South Coast Air Quality Management District, and Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District.

Over the years, strong working relationships have been developed between many individuals within these agencies and Stratus managers. In part, it is these relationships that enable Stratus to stay in compliance with often complex permits. We have maintained an excellent track record for compliance with regards to management of sites and permits for remediation systems.
