Soil Gas Surveys and Indoor Air Intrusion Modeling

Volatile contaminants can accumulate in indoor spaces where exchange with cleaner air is restricted. Such spaces include sub-grade basements or interior ground floor rooms in buildings constructed on slab foundations.

Stratus professionals collect samples of vapors in the soil adjacent to and beneath buildings to evaluate the concentrations of contaminants of concern following current US EPA and California Department of Toxic Substances Control protocol, including both temporary and permanent soil vapor points. The data can be evaluated with computer-based numerical modes to evaluate the potential and likelihood for these vapors to infiltrate interior building spaces.
