Vapor Intrusion Evaluations

Intrusion of contamination into buildings has become a critical concern for the regulatory agencies and the regulated community. Hazardous chemicals from contamination volatize into the pore spaces of the soil, and these vapors can then migrate into the air inside buildings (through poor construction, cracks in slabs and foundations, etc) and create a health hazard to those living and working inside.

Stratus environmental professionals are well-versed in sampling techniques recommended by the US Environmental Protection Agency and California Department of Toxic Substances Control. Our environmental professionals have extensive experience evaluating vapor intrusion data to establish if concentrations of volatile chemicals in soil vapor present an unacceptable risk to human health, and what type of remediation is needed to abate the risk.
